- A video of students at a Duval County private school singing a catchy song to help learn long division has gone viral on social media. Nadine Ebri, who teaches third and fourth grade at La Core Christian Academy in Jacksonville's Arlington area, recorded the video that has been shared millions of times on Facebook. Clarence Stringfield, one of the students in the video, explained how the song originated. "Somebody was beating on the table and then that's when we were, like, 'Divide, multiply and subtract -- bring it on down and bring it on back,'" Clarence said. The little rhyme quickly became a full-blown anthem that is now known across the county. "They were, like, beating and rapping and dabbing to it on the desk. But I was, like, if that's what helps them to remember, then do it," Mrs. Ebri said. Mrs. Ebri told News4JaxFriday that her students were struggling to learn long division, so she helped them create a rhyme that's now chanted every time a student goes to the whiteboard to solve a math problem. "When Mrs Ebri taught us long division, it was kind of struggling for us. So she taught us the steps to long division. But eventually it got easier and easier and then we knew it," saidZe'Yaria Dunn, another student who appears in the video. When one of their classmates gets the problem correct, the students chant a cheer. Though the song helps students learn math, Mrs. Ebrialso had a piece of advice for her fellow educators. 'If you notice that you have a lively class, then you need to teach in a lively way. You can't just have them sitting down doing workbooks, or they're going to be all over the place," Mrs.
